Rockets roll over upstart Muhlenberg North
Robinson scores 4 touchdowns
GREENVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 5, 2003) - Cody Robinson caught three long
touchdown passes and ran for another score as the Rockets dispatched
hapless Muhlenberg North 53-0 on the road.
Robinson, a junior and first-year football player, plays flanker for the Rockets. His three receptions accounted for 155 yards and all of quarterback Sean Thompson's completions in the lopsided affair.
Muhlenberg, a team playing a varsity scheduled for the first time in two years, was no match for the 2-0 Rockets. Crittenden scored its first TD after only six plays, then used just seven plays to tack on its next four touchdowns.
Sophomore running back Blake Gardner found the end zone twice and led the team in rushing with 83 yards on six carries. Two regular running backs, Demetric Moss and T.K. Guess, were sidelined with injuries.
Backup fullback Josh Franklin had one of the best runs of the game, a scoring scamper in the third period as he eluded several Star defenders and broke a half dozen tackles on the 50-yard run.
Austin Berry punctuated the win with a 45-yard interception return with nine seconds left in the game.
